I was able to visit Ed in October. It was the best. The best time. Lots of laughs and smiles. Hugs and more hugs. We both worked really hard at getting things settled and organized in his fourth place he's lived since this started. It is the nicest of them all.
He has decided to teach them how to actually cook. He figures if it is going to taste at all, it is going to taste good. Ed is an excellent cook. He used to make the best cheesecake in the world. He took cooking classes in high school and we were all his taste testers and everyone was great! He loves my moms recipes and I have a feeling Italian sausage is going to be on their menu soon.
He misses his children, desperately. One on each side of the country. He is only 2 hours from each...Virginia and California. The holidays coming bring out some anger and frustration that he has learned the only way to deal with it is acceptance at this time. It is hard for our whole family at the holidays..we all wish he could be with us. Someday I hope he will...we love him so. Never giving up.
